Rated R for animal nudity

I didn't realize how explicit this picture was until I was editing it. Excited to see me much?

A wallaby smelling his hands in a field near our hut. I was amazed at how well they blended into their environment.

Or icy rocksicle? This was a crag off the summit of Barn Bluff with a good landscape background.

What a name

Barn Bluff. I seriously wonder who named these mountains.

Color or no color?

Stone path on the way to the summit of Mt. Ossa. Do prefer it in grayscale or color?

Here's a link to the color original (with a fellow hiker, but you get the gist): http://www.flickr.com/photos/sbauer810/2139423768/in/set-72157603550307984/

The sky is on fire!

Picture 020, originally uploaded by Scott_Bauer.

These are some of the most vibrate clouds at sunset that I've ever seen. I couldn't really capture it with a camera but I did my best to contrast the orange sky against the eucalyptus trees.

New lens coming up!

I'm getting this bad boy as an anniversary present from Audrey, I'm stoked! It's the Canon EF-S 17-85mm with image stabilizer. Funny that I'm getting image stabilizer on my smaller lens and don't have it on my 75-300mm, but I'm excited to test it out! Much better reviews than the 18-55mm that I've used for 4 years, it came stock with the Rebel XT. I'll be sure to post my first shots as soon as I get it!

Sunsetastic

We had a beautiful sunset poking through the trees behind us. These were in my edit-happy days so I did bring out some of the colors. I will post an original one of these days.

Dhugal shows us how it's done on a sunset climb. You can see the alpine glow on the rocks. This climb was awesome because there was a ledge you could climb up and take pictures of people on their way up.

Colin looks good doing the 90ft abseil (or "rappel" in American climbing language) through a waterfall. My hands got pretty slippery!

Australian footy is awesome. I played for the Melbourne University "intermural" and got a split lip my first game. This was a match between North Melbourne Kangaroos and Collingwood Cats.

Ski base camp

Picture 030, originally uploaded by Scott_Bauer.

A cool thing about Australia is the tallest mountains are surrounded by MUCH smaller hills. Makes for a pretty dramatic contrast. This was the ski camp that I repeatedly fell down the mountain from.
